**Why does my dog need a coat?**

Little dogs such as chihuahuas and terriers aren't as advanced as the larger dogs when it comes to handling the cold weather. Leaner dogs such as whippets and greyhounds shiver quite easily and will enjoy their fun in the snow a lot more with a bit more insulation. Even some larger breeds may need a coat as their bellies have no fur exposed to the elements, such as snow on the ground. 

Dogs who are recovering from an illness may also be vulnerable to the weather just like older dogs and puppies.
