Tubbease, once in place on the hoof can also be dunked in a bucket of solution of your choice to soak up remedies. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eProvide \u003cstrong\u003eadditional protection and cleanliness\u003c\/strong\u003e: Tubbease provide a hygienic, protected environment for the hoof to heal, they are also breathable, speeding up recovery time. Dressings can be used and placed inside the Tubbease. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eHeat mouldable\u003c\/strong\u003e: Tubbease can be heated in 60° water and placed on the hoof to cool – it will mould much like a mouth guard, providing an even more comfortable and snug fit. It is also recommended to use heat moulding when the hoof is close to the maximum size noted for each Tubbease. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\u003cp\u003eTubbease should be in every equine first aid kit to enable treating lameness early and to take the time and stress out of treating ailments and infections. They are simple to use, affordable and effective. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePlease Note: \u003c\/strong\u003eTubbease are not designed to be walked in or to be used on a horse when it is being ridden. Tubbease are not for long term use – they are designed to be worn for 5-7 days in conjunction with treatment, but checked daily. They are a limited life item BUT if care is taken, they can be reused at your discretion.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch4\u003eFitting Instructions \u003c\/h4\u003e\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMeasure the hoof Measure the horse’s hoof sole at the widest point and choose the colour below to match within that size. The fit of the hoof sock needs to be as close as possible to the hoof. Tubbease can be fitted over horse shoes. The measurements below, indicate the maximum internal diameter of the Tubbease, not the diameter of the hoof.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFor an optimum fit, and ease of application you can heat the Tubbease before pulling onto the hoof. This is not an essential step, but highly recommended as when the Tubbease cools it will mould much like a mouth guard and fit snug and comfortable. You can place the Tubbease into a bucket of water for around 30 seconds at 50-60° Celsius to soften it, this will make it flexible and easier to place on the hoof. Hold the hoof off the ground for around 1 minute while the Tubbease cools and moulds to the hoof.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eTo fit the Tubbease Stretch the sock as wide as the hoof, and it will slide on. Work the boot back so the toe is right at the front, then the heels will fit easily.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFit the Velcro strap Bring up the sock, giving it a positive stretch – you don’t want the sock baggy. Fit the Velcro strap, with the hook side to the sock, nice and snug, making sure the sock is not loose below the Velcro strap, and that the strap is nice and tight. The strap should be holding tension on the sock but not restricting the circulation.
