Paw-tumn is nearly here: Are you ready?

With Autumn just around the corner and August coming to a close, it's time for earlier night time walkies and to get the dog coats out of your cupboard. Here's our guide to giving your dog the safest, warmest and comfiest Paw-tumn ever!

Walkies 🐕

It's a sad fact that as autumn approaches the nights become darker earlier, and the mornings become lighter later. That's why its a good idea to take your dog out later on a morning and earlier on the night to attempt to avoid the darkness. However we know it isn't always possible, or you may enjoy a walk with your pooch in the darker nights, so follow these rules and you and your doggy can have the best night walkies ever:

Use Reflective Gear

The most important thing to remember if your walking down a main street is that cars and other vehicles won't be able to see your dog. Use reflective and LED gear such as the Weatherbeeta Reflective Parka and the Flexi Vario LED Flash Belt to keep your dog safe and snug.

Dog Coats

If you do decide to walk your dog a bit earlier than usual to keep up with the light, then than doesn't necessarily mean that it will be any warmer. A good idea is to invest in a warm, high quality dog coat to make sure even the biggest of poochies are warm and snug this Paw-tumn.

The Warm Indoors 🏠

Dog Beds

What more do we like more than coming in from a long day and just jumping into a nice warm snuggly bed... well so does your canine companion! if their bed is starting to look a little worse for wear during this cold season then get a new fluffy bed for your pooch, maybe try the Sherpa Fleece Bed or one of our many beds instore...

Fleas

Checking for fleas is important at anytime of the year, however flea season is just coming to a close so don't forget to make sure your dog doesn't have fleas before you go trying on dog coats or dog beds this autumn! Check out our other blog on checking for fleas if you want more information about fleas on dogs.
