Slide the rug into Position over the horse's back
Buckle the chest chest straps making sure the rug fits well on the wither and shoulders to ensure the horse moves freely without the rug slipping back
Adjust the buckles and ensure you can slide your hand down the neck of the rug then slide the rug into position over the horse's back so it lies flat.
If your rug has cross surcingles then they should always cross in the centre of the horse's belly with a hands breadth between the straps and the body.
If you have leg straps, take the left strap and pas it between the hind legs and fasten onto the left hand side.
Pass the right leg strap through the loop made by the left strap and fasten to the right hand side.
Adjust the leg straps equally, until there is room for the width of one hand between the leg straps and the horse's thigh, allowing leg movement.
Measuring a rug is important as a poorly fitting rug will cause discomfort and rubbing to your horse. The WeatherBeeta rugs are sized in 3 inch increments, if your horse is between sizes then choose the bigger one.
Measure from the centre of the chest around the body and to rear of the quarters to get your rug size.
